EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Position/Job Summary/Function by Area

Planning/Goals
  1. Implementing the Strategic Master Plan established by the Board
          a.   To be completed during the Annual Retreat with participation from the Executive Director
                in generating the Plan
  2. Analyze and interpret the needs of members and recommend revisions accordingly

Administration

  1. Complete responsibility for implementing the policies and regulations assigned by the directors
  2. Overall administration and management of the Chamber
  3. Motivate and inspire Board of Directors, staff and volunteers
  4. Maintain records as required
  5. Coordinate events and community activities
  6. Publish the newsletter
  7. Oversee Chamber website
  8. Attend all Chamber events or functions

Membership

  1. Recruit and maintain the membership at a level which will ensure necessary income for operation of the program

Fiscal

  1. Budgeting of income and expenditures
  2. Identify and research funding opportunities; prepare and submit Grant applications and funding proposals as appropriate
  3. Draft the Chamber budget
  4. Submit monthly financial statements to the Board
  5. Implement the Chamber Budget and be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll

Community/Government

  1. Support and promote positive relations between the Chamber and local business/industry
  2. Foster improved communication between Chamber and governmental entities, state and local agencies, local educational entities and community based committees or initiatives including Lebanon Tourism & Convention Commission, Office of Economic Development, and Marion County Industrial Foundation
  3. work to create a positive public image for the Chamber
  4. Coordinate representation of the Chamber to legislative bodies and other groups

Qualifications

  1. Bachelors degree or equivalent
  2. Computer experience - Microsoft Word, Quick Books, Excel, Access, and web-based training
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  4. Experience in sales, public relations, marketing, and/or special events planning
  5. Proven experience record in developing and managing member programs, working with leaders, and establishing strong community involvement at the leadership level
  1. References, salary requirement and background check will be required prior to offer of employment
